New Delhi: It’s a huge relief for the people of Delhi. The Delhiites are now at ease while talking new water, sewer connection or getting their meters tested thanks all to digital initiative by Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
This is due to Delhi government completely shifting Delhi Jal Board’s zonal revenue offices online.
The move comes following a meeting between DJB chairperson Satyendar Jain and senior board officials. During the meeting, it was decided that all services of the zonal revenue offices be migrated to the online M-Seva app to strengthen the water billing system and making it more transparent, according to a report in Indian Express.
“This is a huge step towards achieving the dream of a new era of governance that will be corruption-free, transparent and will make life easier for our citizens. The services of the Delhi Jal Board will be made faceless and online portals will be introduced to bring services under one roof. Help desks will be set up in every zone to help each and every citizen of Delhi avail online DJB services and register their grievances. Each zone will have a help desk to assist consumers in case they face any issue while availing online services,” the report quoted DJB chairman as saying.
To avail different services, people can register online by visiting DJB website, or on the M-Seva mobile app.
Satyendra Jain has also asked Delhi Jal Board officials to prepare a backend website to see billing history with photographs.
